TRX Gold Corp (TSX:TNX, NYSE-A:TRX) has reported the latest drilling results from the Anfield and Eastern Porphyry Zones, which reveal significant potential for resource expansion and the development of a new mining area on the Buckreef Gold project in Tanzania.
The results are part of the company's comprehensive 2023 exploration and brownfield drilling campaign, aimed at identifying new gold targets and converting Mineral Resources to Mineral Reserves.
The Anfield and Eastern Porphyry zones, located at the northern end of a three-kilometer-long gold mineralization zone parallel to the Buckreef Main Zone, have demonstrated impressive results. Hole BMDD298 in the Eastern Porphyry zone intersected 14.0 meters (m) grading at 3.48 grams per ton (g/t), including 3.0m grading at 10.96 g/t. Similarly, Hole AFDD001 in the Anfield zone intersected 2.94m grading at an impressive 13.74 g/t.
In a statement, TRX Gold's CEO, Stephen Mullowney, expressed his satisfaction with the drill results, commenting: "The grades we are seeing are precisely what we had hoped for and are in line with our geologists' expectations. These two zones represent a great exploration opportunity for the Buckreef Gold property."
The recent intercepts confirm the presence of multiple mineralized zones southwest of the Eastern Porphyry deposit and mark the first diamond drill hole intersections in the Anfield Zone. These zones are in close proximity to the Buckreef Main Zone, offering the potential for additional mineral resources outside of the main zone.
The company said it plans to pause the drilling program temporarily to allow for the planning of follow-up high-priority drill targets based on the latest results. TRX Gold aims to rapidly develop the area and potentially delineate near-surface mineral reserves for short-term mining.
The drilling campaign's success and the potential for resource expansion in the Anfield and Eastern Porphyry zones mark significant milestones for TRX Gold Corporation as it continues to advance the Buckreef Gold project and create long-term value for shareholders.
