Galileo Resources steps up exploration in KCB area in Botswana

Galileo Resources PLC (AIM:GLR) said an airborne survey being carried out by two nearby explorers will record data on some of its licences in Botswana that it will receive at no cost.

Cobre and Sandfire’s joint survey will cover Galileo’s licence PL253/2018 as part of a wide-ranging overview of the Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB), including new discoveries by Cobre at Ngami, Kitlanya West and Kitlanya East.

Results are expected in the third quarter of this year when Galileo also should get data from its own sampling programme underway currently.

Colin Bird, Galileo’s chairman, said: "The Kalahari Copper Belt is receiving much global attention, with new entrants making positive inroads towards discovery, in many cases providing new thinking on mineralisation controls and trends.

“The work that we and Sandfire are carrying out is consistent with this new thinking and licence PL253/2018 in particular appears very prospective.

“We look forward to the results of our programme and will report as soon as results are received and processed.”
