Eden Research PLC (AIM:EDEN, OTCQB:EDNSF)'s pioneering biofungicide, Novellus, has gained regulatory approval in New Zealand.
It will be deployed on wine and table grapes to combat the Botrytis cinerea fungus, which thrives in New Zealand's vineyards due to the damp conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
Botrytis, especially detrimental to the popular Sauvignon Blanc variety, causes significant crop loss and can financially impact up to NZ$5,000 per hectare.
Eden's partner Sipcam Oxon will exclusively distribute Novellus in the country, beginning with the 2023/24 growing season, during the Southern Hemisphere's summer and early autumn when fungal treatment typically takes place.
