A 900-metre trenching campaign has borne gilded results for Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR, OTC:GMRMF) at the Massan Returns prospect of the Kada Gold Project, with the final three trenches returning very broad intersections of gold mineralisation.
Trenching is an exploration technique that involves sampling an excavated trench, which can provide initial geological information and insight into how veins and different mineralised zones may be orientated.
These results, generated from three of nine trenches, point to wide zones of continuous gold mineralisation and include:
- 128 metres at 3.1 g/t gold from beginning (0 metres) to end of trench, including 10 metres at 10.7 g/t gold from 74 metres;
- 72 metres at 1.0 g/t gold from 0 metres to end of trench; and
- 82 metres at 1.1 g/t gold from 0 to end of trench, including 14 metres at 2.8 g/t gold from 34 metres.
“Continuous intersections of mineralisation”
“Trenching at Massan continues to intercept wide zones of high-grade mineralisation and has given us further understanding about the multiple orientations of mineralisation across the mineral resource area,” Golden Rim Resources managing director Tim Strong said.
“What is exciting to see is continuous intersections of mineralisation in both our East-West and North-South trenches.
“After we observed veins in the trenches trending east-north-east as well as north-south, we opted to drill some reverse circulation (RC) holes within the mineral resource estimate (MRE) area plunging to the northwest, with positive early results including 56 metres at 1.7 g/t gold in MSRC0241.
“We are awaiting results from 14 RC holes in the area, which we are confident will return wide zones of mineralisation and help further our understanding of the ore zones orientation.
“We look forward to confirming our structural observations with the ongoing diamond drilling campaign as we work towards a maiden MRE at Bereko and a mineral resource update at Massan later in 2023.”
GMR expects the results from its 3,500-metre diamond drilling campaign by late May this year, with the maiden MRE for Bereko and an updated MRE for Massan also on track for delivery this year.
