JD Sports Fashion PLC (LSE:JD.) named Dominic Platt as its new chief financial officer.
Expected to join later this year, Platt is currently CFO of Compare the Market’s owner, BGL, and has held senior finance roles at Darty PLC (LSE:DRTY) and Cable and Wireless PLC.
According to a statement, he has “extensive experience” in consumer-focused companies and has helped “drive growth strategies and deliver successful results”.
“He brings strong international and public company expertise and a wealth of experience in consumer-focused businesses,” said JD Sports chief executive Régis Schultz.
“Having worked closely with Dominic before, I am certain his financial expertise, deep knowledge of governance and strategic counsel will be crucial in helping to drive forward the next chapter in the global growth story of JD,” he added.
Neil Greenhalgh, current CFO, will leave the business this summer after completing last year’s annual report and ensuring an orderly transition of his responsibilities.
