Ilika has made the first customer shipments of its stacked Stereax M300 batteries as part of a series of planned deliveries to customers including CubeWorks and Lura Health.
Cubeworks has developed a next-generation cold store logistics sensor platform, while Lura Health has made a sensor that can fit into traditional orthodontic appliances and measure saliva with data sent to a smartphone.
Gyouho Kim, CubeWorks chief executive, said: "Batteries have traditionally been one of the major bottlenecks in IoT, and Ilika's battery technology offers a unique balance of form factor and performance that can complement our ultra-efficient SoC (System-on-Chip) solution."
Ilika added that Stereax batteries can be configured to be stacked with both customers using the batteries due to their compact, high-density and high-power characteristics.
Talks with Cirtec Medical over the final terms of a partnership are ongoing, added the statement.
Graeme Purdy, Ilika's chief executive, commented: "Building on the first shipments of Stereax M50 cells last month, our team has delivered the first batches of Stereax M300 batteries to support our customers' product development programmes.
