PyroGenesis Canada Inc subsidiary Pyro Green-Gas (formerly Air Science Technologies) has successfully completed what’s called an Integrated Cold Test (ICT) as part of a previously announced $9.3 million project.
Pyro Green-Gas is supplying coke oven gas purification solutions and hydrogen production processes that together have the potential for the extraction of hydrogen with a 99.999% purity level to a key client, a top diversified steel producer.
The hydrogen extraction technology allows the client to rely on a cleaner energy source for annealing, galvanizing and the acid recovery processes, which ultimately reduces its carbon footprint.
Successful demonstration of the ICT is an important step in the completion of the project, the company said, as it confirms that all systems, equipment and their components meet and exceed the required operation and safety standards.
“Our achievement in completing this milestone demonstrates our unwavering commitment to delivering innovative solutions that not only meet the needs of our clients but also contribute to a more sustainable future,” CEO Peter Pascali said in a statement.
“We are excited to be working this renowned industry leader on an important project and are confident that our innovative technology will help them to meet their sustainability goals while improving operational efficiency.”
Looking ahead, the next milestone is the completion of a performance acceptance certificate (PAC), which the company expects to occur by the end of the third quarter.
The ICT completion also triggers an aggregate milestone payment of $460,000. The balance for this project, approximately $920,000, would be earned upon the completion of two final milestones, namely obtaining the PAC and completing the post-performance bond.
