OKYO Pharma Ltd (LSE:OKYO, NASDAQ:OKYO), an ophthalmology-focused biopharmaceutical company, will showcase two presentations on its dry eye disease (DED) treatment, OK-101, at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS 2023) in San Diego, California, from 5-8 May.
Dr Pedram Hamrah, a leading expert on Neuropathic Corneal Pain (NCP) and DED, will present both papers at the conference.
He serves as the co-director of the Cornea Service and director of the Center for Translational Ocular Immunology at the New England Eye Center at Tufts Medical Center.
The presentations will cover pre-clinical and animal model data on OK-101's effectiveness in treating DED and NCP.
A potentially breakthrough treatment, OK-101 aims to address the significant unmet need in this multi-billion-dollar market for DED.
