Ximen Mining Corp (TSX-V:XIM, OTCQB:XXMMF) said it has received the Final Environmental Permit for discharge for the Kenville Gold Mine project in southeastern British Columbia.
The permit allows the discharge of effluent to ground and surface water from the underground operation, along with other associated works, including the New Mine Access Portal, Waste Rock Storage Facility, sumps, effluent storage tanks, pipelines, mine contact water collection system, and flow measuring devices.
In a statement, Ximen Mining CEO, Christopher Anderson, expressed his pride in the progress of the Kenville Gold Mine project, commenting: "We have worked tirelessly on obtaining the necessary permits for this specific site, and now we are proud to announce that the Kenville Gold Mine is well on its way to becoming one of the greenest and most sustainable gold mines in Southern British Columbia."
The permit includes several conditions, such as the implementation of the Site-wide Water Management Plan and the Nitrogen Management Plan, as well as the conduct of a discharge monitoring program and a surface water monitoring program.
Ximen Mining has completed all of these conditions and is prepared to submit a summary report for the water quality results of the discharge from the underground mine within 45 days of commencement.
The company said it is pleased to have received this all-important environmental permit, and preparations are underway to construct the authorized works and kick off the underground mine development.
Anderson stated that the company is committed to achieving the next phase of milestones and providing regular updates to keep everyone informed.
The Kenville Gold Mine was established in 1888 and is one of the first underground gold mines in British Columbia.
