Technology Minerals successfully completes Cameroon field mark-out

Technology Minerals PLC (LSE:TM1) said it had successfully completed the field placement of beacons marking its five licences in Cameroon - areas prospective for battery metals nickel and cobalt.

The work, carried out by local firm Explorers 33 Consulting Group, also involved consultation with local villages falling within the five licence areas.

Chief executive Alex Stanbury said: "We can now look forward to beginning exploration work on the ground, which will seek to target potential areas of high-grade cobalt-nickel laterite."

He added that global demand for critical minerals like cobalt and nickel is expected to rise in the coming years, as they are essential components in technologies enabling a lower carbon future.

Technology Minerals' land package covers 2,456 square kilometres in southeastern Cameroon's East Region and is believed to be prospective for cobalt-nickel laterites.

The permits are considered promising for this style of mineralisation, as they occur in the same geological belt as Nkamouna, which has identified resources of 120.6 Mt @ 0.65% Ni, 0.23% Co, and 1.35% Mn.

Technology Minerals is the UK's first listed company focused on a sustainable circular economy for battery metals from discovery to recycling.
