Live Company Group PLC (AIM:LVCG) has sold 18,000 tickets in a matter of days for the KPOP LUX concert in Madrid, the events and entertainment company announced on Tuesday.
A combined €2.2mln (£1.9mln) has been generated from the sales since tickets were released on April 27, with over half of the performing artists still set to be announced.
"The buzz and excitement of bringing KPOP LUX to Spain has been extraordinary,” chairman David Ciclitira commented. “I am delighted that 18,000 tickets have been sold with only half of the artists announced.”
KPOP LUX is due to be held on July 22 in Civitas Metropolitano Stadium, the home of football team Atlético Madrid, and is a collaboration between Live Company, L.A. Rock Entertainment, and Korean broadcaster SBS.
Enhyphen, Ateez and Ive will feature among seven acts playing to a crowd of over 40,000 people during the three-hour-long concert, according to L.A. Rock Entertainment, making it the largest K-pop festival in the world.
Live Company largely generates revenue through ticket sales, alongside merchandising, sponsorship and streaming, with K-Pop making up one of the AIM-listed firm’s four divisions.
Over 200mln people follow K-Pop globally, Live Company noted, including a fanbase in Europe which is “growing at a rapid rate” as the music becomes “more accessible”.
