Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) will report earnings after the market closes on May 2, and investors will be watching for whether the company can outdo expectations of an earnings decline.
The Street expects revenue of $36.03 billion, up 4.4% year-over-year, and earnings of $0.41 per share, compared to a loss of $0.78 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Notably, the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 2.75% higher over the last 30 days to the current level, according to Zacks.
However, the automaker has beaten expectations just once in the last four quarters. Zacks doesn’t necessarily expect that to change, as Ford has an earnings expected surprise prediction of -0.23%.
Investors will be watching in part for electric vehicle figures. Ford cut EV prices in January after Tesla made a similar move.
