Loebel says the results of this study produced up to a 99.999% elimination of pathogens commonly found on hard surfaces in meat processing facilities, as well as those directly located on fresh-cut chicken, beef, and pork meat. Loebel adds these results could have direct impacts on community well-being and industry profitability by increasing consumer confidence in addition to reducing the strain on public health from food-borne illnesses.
