NV Gold Corporation (TSX-V:NVX, OTC:NVGLF) told investors that drilling at its 100%-owned SW Pipe Project in north-central Nevada’s central Cortez gold belt will commence in the second half of April 2023 after the company secured a drill rig and filled a Notice of Intent with the Bureau of Land Management for four additional drill holes.
In an update on its SW Pipe exploration program, the company said its initial drill hole is fully permitted and drill pad construction is complete at the project.
"The company's team of experts is confident in the target concept and is looking forward to permitting four additional drill pads to further evaluate these square-kilometers-sized, geochemistry anomalies appropriately to uncover the next Carlin-type gold system in Nevada,” NV Gold vice president of exploration Thomas Klein said in a statement.
The company noted that chip sampling in 2022 returned gold values up to 1.74 parts per million (ppm), with high arsenic and antimony, elements enriched in productive Carlin-type gold deposits.
Additionally, historic shallow drilling in 1989 yielded intersections that included 0.442 grams per ton (g/t) over 6.8 metres (m); 0.654 g/t over 15.2m; 0.794 g/t over 9.2m; and 0.580 g/t over 18.3m.
“We are in elephant mining country and less than 6 kilometers from Nevada Gold Mines' multi-million-ounce Pipeline and Cortez gold deposits. We are excited about the potential to make this exploration effort a discovery success story,” Klein added.
