Forward Water Technologies plans to deliver Forward Osmosis pilot system on-site in Chile

Forward Water Technologies Corp (TSX-V:FWTC) (FWTC) has said it plans to deliver a Forward Osmosis pilot system on-site in Chile to support a customer's lithium extraction process.

The move is in response to the growing demand for FWTC's innovative technology in the region.

The Canadian-based company provides sustainable solutions to its clients by recovering water that would be permanently lost through traditional treatment methods. Its cutting-edge technology enables the preservation of water for reuse or safe surface discharge, which is a major concern for lithium extraction in Chile and the surrounding region.

"We are committed to providing innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients, and we believe that establishing a presence in Chile will help us achieve that goal," said H. Honeyman, CEO and president of FWTC in a statement.

The company said its decision to pursue the opportunity will allow it to demonstrate the effectiveness of its process on-site and in a real-world setting, while also gaining valuable insights into the lithium market. FWTC expects to complete negotiations and deploy the unit on-site in the coming months.

FWTC was founded by Green Centre Canada, a leading technology innovation center supported by the Canadian government. Its patented Forward Osmosis technology allows for the reduction of challenging waste streams while simultaneously returning fresh water for reuse or surface release.

The company's mandate is to focus on the large-scale implementation of its technology in multiple sectors, including industrial wastewater, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, and ultimately municipal water supply and re-use market sectors. With its sustainable solutions, FWTC aims to contribute to the conservation of the earth's water supply.
