NorthWest Copper brings former director mining executive out of retirement as interim CEO

NorthWest Copper Corp (TSX-V:NWST) has named former Serengeti Resources CEO David Moore as its interim chief executive, the company announced.

Moore led Serengeti Resources for 17 years, and he previously sat on NrothWest’s board of directors. That gives him intimate knowledge of the company’s assets, team, shareholders and First Nations relationships.

Since his retirement in 2022, he has served as a technical advisor to the company.

All told, Moore brings more than 50 years of experience in the sector, including instrumental work in the discovery and delineation of the company’s Kwanika deposit, the company said. In fact, he’s considered “the architect of much of the portfolio that now constitutes the project pipeline of Northwest,” according to a statement.

“I would like to sincerely thank David for coming out of retirement to lead the company with its continued exploration and development efforts during this interim period,” chairman Mark O’Dea said.
