Great Atlantic Resources Corp (TSX-V:GR) announced that it has applied for diamond drilling and trenching permits for its flagship Golden Promise gold property in Newfoundland.
The Canadian exploration company said the drilling and trenching applications are for the southern region of the property in areas of gold soil anomalies and/or reported geophysics anomalies, which are at least 500 meters (m) long with an apparent width of about 90m to 200m with 22 of 28 samples within the zone returning anomalous gold values of 5 parts per billion (ppb) gold and higher (up to 77 ppb).
Great Atlantic noted it has applied for up to five drill holes and three trenches within the southwest region of the property as well as permits for five trenches in the southern region.
The company added that it has an existing diamond drilling permit for the northern region of the property at the Jaclyn Zone, which is host to multiple gold-bearing quartz veins.
Vancouver-based Great Atlantic Resources is a Canadian project generation company focused on the discovery and development of mineral assets in Atlantic Canada.
