John Lewis to launch new loyalty scheme working with Tesco and Eagle Eye

John Lewis Partnership is going to launch a new loyalty scheme across its stores, including Waitrose, using technology from Eagle Eye Solutions Group PLC (AIM:EYE) and Dunnhumby, the analytics business owned by Tesco PLC (LSE:TSCO).

A five-year contract has been given to Eagle Eye for a new ‘pan-partnership’ loyalty project to launch next year to provide “greater customer personalisation and improved loyalty experiences”.

Relaunched last year, the My Waitrose and My John Lewis loyalty programmes have been signed up by more than 9mln and 5mln customers respectively.

Using technology from its new providers, the employee-owned group said it expects to “open up collaboration opportunities with suppliers”.

It has also poached Tesco’s head of loyalty strategy, Emily Wells, to fill the new role of head of loyalty.

Shares in Eagle Eye, where former Tesco CEO Sir Terry Leahy is a non-exec director, rose 5% to 563p.
