Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, is resigning after an investigation into a complaint of alleged inappropriate conduct with a female colleague, announced parent company Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA).
Shell, who became CEO in January 2020, admitted to having an "inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company".
His team, including Universal chair Donna Langley and television and streaming head Mark Lazarus, will report to Comcast's president, Mike Cavanagh.
There is no announced succession plan, but potential replacements include Lazarus, news chief Cesar Conde, global advertising head Linda Yaccarino, and former NBCUniversal CEO Stephen Burke, reported the Financial Times.
