Tesla, Netflix lead mixed bag of earnings ahead of Big Tech next week

Earnings season ramped up this week with the likes of Netflix, American Express, Tesla, AT&T, United Airlines, Johnson & Johnson, and Procter & Gamble posting a mixed bag of results.

Next week, investor attention will turn to Big Tech, with Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and Amazon set to hand down their reports.

Artificial intelligence (AI) will be central to these company’s earnings calls next week, predicts Markets.com market analyst Neil Wilson.

“Both Alphabet and Meta are facing tough times in advertising and will be looking for AI to be their bodyguard in the meantime, whilst Microsoft has apparently opened up a bit of lead with its backing of OpenAI,” Wilson said.

“It will be noteworthy just how much Meta in particular shifts its focus, at least in the short term, from the metaverse to AI.”

Here's a recap of this week’s earnings highlights plus insights into what’s to come from Big Tech:
