Orford Mining stock climbs on gold drill results

Orford Mining (TSX-V:ORM) Corporation shares jumped 13% to $0.22 on Thursday after the gold and critical mineral explorer announced that it continues to receive thick mineralized gold intervals from its 2023 drill program at the Joutel Eagle property in Quebec, with drill results that included 14.2 metres (m) of 2.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Orford said the majority of assays are pending, with the remainder of results expected in mid-May 2023.

“The results from the 2023 drill campaign on our Joutel Eagle property continue to prove the property has tremendous potential value both in the South Gold Zone and the new North Gold Zone,” Orford Mining (TSX-V:ORM) CEO David Christie said in a statement.

“The continuity in gold grade and thickness across the South Gold Zone has been very encouraging,” he added.

The company noted that hole 23-JE-008 drilled into the South Gold Zone intersected two thick intersections of gold mineralization, which included 15.7m of 1.7 g/t gold from 21.7m to 35.1m depth.

Orford Mining (TSX-V:ORM), which is focused on exploring highly prospective and underexplored areas of northern Quebec, has optioned the Joutel Eagle property from Globex Mining Enterprises Inc. (TSX:GMX, OTCQX:GLBXF).
