SeatGeek reportedly files for IPO

SeatGeek has filed for an initial public offering (IPO) a year after its attempt to go public via an acquisition failed, according to The Information.

The mobile-focused ticket platform reportedly expects its revenue to exceed $500 million this year as the live events industry continues to bounce back following the Covid-19 pandemic.

SeatGeek has filed confidentially for the IPO, per The Information’s report citing people with knowledge of the matter, meaning the details of the offering will be kept under wraps for now.

In 2022, SeatGeek had planned to go public via a merger with RedBall Acquisition but the two companies mutually agreed to call off the deal due to the challenging market conditions.

Following the cancelled special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger, the company raised $238 million from private investors.
