Gfk consumer confidence and retail sales are set to dominate on Friday during a quiet day for UK blue chips.
Year-on-year retail sales are expected to drop by 2.9%, slightly better than March’s 3.5% fall.
Consensus believes that consumer confidence will improve month-on-month from -36 last month to -34 in April.
In the US, consumer giant Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) will report third-quarter results on Friday following the group raising full-year sales forecasts earlier this year.
Pricing will be a key area of the Cincinnati-based company.
In January, the owner of brands such as Olay and Gillette noted it raised prices by 10% in its second quarter to offset rising costs and declining sales volumes.
Over in small-caps, liquid biopsy group ANGLE PLC (AIM:AGL, OTCQX:ANPCY) is set to release full-year preliminary results after announcing a partnership with BioView.
