Greatland Gold said it has recorded a high-grade gold intersection from exploration outside of its Havieron development.
Assays from a drill programme last year at the Ramses target at Rudall project, which lies south of Havieron in WA's Paterson region, showed one section with a grade of 22g/t gold over a width of 18.25mln and at a depth of 924m.
That included one metre of bonanza core at a grade of 393g/t.
Greatland added the intersection also recorded anomalous copper, silver, bismuth and arsenic, which was significant.
The hole ended due to drilling limitations with the mineralisation open at depth
Shaun Day, Greatland’s managing director, described it as a “significant and high-grade result."
"While recognising the high-grade intercept is at depth, the strong gold mineralisation and supporting pathfinder geochemistry in consistently altered and veined basement sediments continues to highlight the outstanding prospectivity within Greatland's tenement package.”
The junior said next will be to test the hole further with a downhole electromagnetic survey and structural and geochemical work to assess if the mineralisation extends to shallower portions of the basement.
Havieron is being developed through a joint venture with Newcrest.
