Great Boulder Resources ramps up Side Well exploration with phase two RC drilling underway

Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) is ramping up its exploration efforts at the Side Well Gold Project near Meekatharra in Western Australia with a 5,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drill program underway at Ironbark and Mulga Bill prospects, following a string of drill results described as "sensational".

The priority for the phase two program include extending resources along strike and down dip of previous high-grade intersections.

Meanwhile, GBR’s aircore drilling is nearing completion at the northern end of Mulga Bill with assays expected shortly.

Test strike extensions

GBR managing director Andrew Paterson said: “The RC rig from Challenge Drilling returned to the site late last week and commenced drilling at Ironbark on Friday afternoon.

“As the last RC program extended Ironbark to the north, we are continuing to test strike extensions of near-surface gold mineralisation by stepping out further north with new drilling.”

“The aircore rig is also busy testing areas northeast of Mulga Bill.

“That program is almost complete and we should have more results through shortly.”

“After a series of sensational drill results from Side Well over the past couple of months, it’s exciting to be following up those results with our next round of RC drilling.

“I look forward to providing ongoing updates to shareholders as we continue to advance the project.”

Drill highlights

RC drilling at Side Well will comprise approximately 5,000 metres at Ironbark and Mulga Bill.

In addition to testing strike and dip extensions at Ironbark, the rig will also look to continue testing high-grade gold mineralisation at Mulga Bill, including the gap between the HGV and Central Zones as well as possible extensions immediately east of the current resource.

Holes are also planned to continue testing the potential of the Flagpole and Loaded Dog prospects, within the 6-kilometre-long Mulga Bill corridor.

The aircore rig has almost completed a 97-hole program testing a range of areas including Flagpole, Loaded Dog and Mulga Bill with further results from this drillling anticipated shortly.

Heritage survey at Wellington

GBR is also finalising plans for the first heritage survey of the Wellington Project by traditional owners from the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation (TMPAC), which is expected to begin in late May.

Subsequently, this survey will kick off a soil sampling program at Wellington.

The survey's start was delayed due to rainfall in the region in late March and early April.
