Québec Nickel Corp (CSE:QNI, OTCQB:QNICF) announced that it has drilled more than 250 metres (m) of serpentinized ultramafic rock at its Ducros project in Quebec, saying the results suggest the presence of large tonnage nickel-cobalt target with a geophysical expression spanning several hundred metres in width and multiple kilometers long and is similar to surrounding high-tonnage nickel-cobalt projects in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
The mineral exploration company also noted that exploration work will resume at the Fortin Sill Zone, following up on 2022 drill results that included 1.44% nickel, 1.49% copper, 461 parts per million (ppm) cobalt, and 2.79 grams per tonne (g/t) platinum-palladium-gold.
As well, Québec Nickel reported the appointment of seasoned mining professional Richard Dufresne as its new interim CEO, as current CEO David Paterson will step down and assume the position of company executive chairman and director.
During his nine-year tenure with Falconbridge, Dufresne played a key role in exploring and developing the Raglan Nickel mine, which led to its production decision in 1996, and also spent five years overseeing nickel exploration for eastern Canada at Anglo American, according to the company.
Québec Nickel is a mineral exploration company focused on acquiring, exploring, and developing critical metals projects in Québec, Canada.
