Zeb Nickel (TSX-V:ZBNI, OTC:ZBNIF) Corp said a third party's airborne geophysical survey over the company’s flagship Zeb Nickel (TSX-V:ZBNI, OTC:ZBNIF) project area in Limpopo, South Africa, will be ready in July and will help it "better understand" the geology and geological structure of the area.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said the data will help it to figure out the distribution of known nickel and nickel-copper-platinum group element (Ni-Cu-PGE) mineralization and identify new targets that may host nickel mineralization.
Previous holes drilled at the Zeb project revealed higher-grade sulfide nickel zones and Ni-Cu-PGE mineralized zones at the base of the historical nickel resource estimate, the company said.
In a statement, Zeb Nickel (TSX-V:ZBNI, OTC:ZBNIF) interim CEO Richard Montjoie said: "The acquisition of this geophysical data will allow us to advance our geological understanding of the project area, particularly with regards to identifying extensions of known high-grade nickel and Ni-PGE mineralization, as well as our understanding of the geological structure, which always has a strong control on Ni-PGE mineralization.”
Montjoie noted that by amalgamating the new data with existing drill results, the firm will be able to target higher-grade Ni-Cu-PGE mineralization in upcoming drill campaigns, allowing Zeb to “rapidly delineate a higher-grade nickel resource."
Zeb Nickel (TSX-V:ZBNI, OTC:ZBNIF) focuses on metals that are critical in the production of rechargeable batteries such as nickel, graphite, lithium, cobalt, manganese, copper, and aluminum.
