Doubleview Gold eyes significant boost to Hat project assays, thanks to scandium

Doubleview Gold Corp (TSX-V:DBG, OTCQB:DBLVF) has said assay results from its Hat Project in the Atlin Mining District of northwestern British Columbia will now be reported as copper equivalent, comprising gold, cobalt and scandium as well as copper.

The mineral resource exploration and development company noted that the inclusion of scandium in assays from the Hat Project increases the copper equivalent figures significantly.

The Vancouver-based company said it recognizes two significant mineralizing events, namely that scandium appears to be associated with an early stage of intrusion and mineralization followed by another intrusive event that brought copper and other metals.

“The company's exploration work has been based on a conceptual model in which the copper and gold values support a potential mine at the Hat Property. Scandium would act as a high-value credit from the operation,” the company said in a statement.

The company noted that the price of copper is forecast at $3.84 per pound, cobalt at $23.30 per pound, gold at $1,812.24 per troy ounce, silver at $22.20 per troy ounce and scandium at $2.0 per gram.

It added that the overall recovery rate for copper is at 84%, cobalt at 78%, gold at 89%, silver at 68% and scandium at 56%.
