Cooper Metals buoyed by IP survey confirming strong depth potential at Mt Isa’s Ardmore South

Cooper Metals Ltd (ASX:CPM) is pleased that a pole-dipole (PDP) induced polarisation (IP) survey carried out at the Ardmore South prospect within the Mt Isa East Copper Gold Project in northwest Queensland has confirmed the strong depth potential of the chargeability anomaly identified earlier.

The explorer said the PDP line surveyed across the centre of the high chargeability zone is open at depth below 200 metres.

“The new pole-dipole IP line has confirmed the impressive depth potential of the IP chargeability anomaly announced earlier this month at Ardmore South,” Cooper Metals managing director Ian Warland said.

“With the chargeability response open at depth beyond 200 metres, it validates the effort that the company has put into this area and presents a compelling drill target for copper-gold mineralisation,” he added.

More copper-gold discoveries

Further, new rock chip assay results from Ardmore South have continued to demonstrate strong copper-gold mineralisation, with results up to 20.6% copper and anomalous gold.

A total of fifty-five rock chip samples have been collected from Ardmore South, with more results pending.

“I am also encouraged and continue to be impressed by the high-grade nature and extent of the geochemical results,” Warland said.

“The company is focusing on completing the logistical and regulatory approvals in order to drill Ardmore South ASAP and will continue to update the market with the progress.”

Cooper plans to carry out 2,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling over priority geophysical and geochemical anomalies at Ardmore South.

Logistical and regulatory preparations are underway, with drilling set to commence in late May.

Meanwhile, new rock chip samples from the Ardmore North prospect, about 12 kilometres northeast of Ardmore South, returned assay results up to 14.5% copper and 4.5 g/t gold.

The company will now complete the mapping and sampling to close off the mineralised zones.
