BATM Advanced Communications Ltd (LSE:BVC)’s first commercial deployment of its Edgility edge computing and virtual networking solution is ahead of schedule, it reported today.
Building materials group CEMEX is the customer and several of its sites have already gone live.
Full completion of the contract is now expected this year instead of the original 2024 target date.
This will accelerate revenue recognition from this contract, BATM added.
Another customer, telecoms group CityFibre, has also adopted the latest upgrade to the Edgility platform, BATM said, which includes an updated firewall and virtual router.
Further orders are expected, the statement added, as CityFibre replaces hardware-based customer premise routing equipment throughout its network.
Moti Nagar, BATM’s chief executive, commented: “The deployment with CEMEX has been very successful and is ahead of schedule while our partnership with CityFibre has resulted in customer-led innovation to launch the latest, enhanced version of our platform.
“As a result, our revenue from Edgility in the first quarter of 2023 almost equalled that generated for the whole of 2022, and we remain on track for significant growth in our sales of Edgility this year."
