Black Swan Graphene makes key appointment

Black Swan Graphene (TSX-V:SWAN) Inc said it has appointed Dr Chris Herron as its vice-president Research and Product Development.

The company said that Dr Herron will be instrumental in ensuring optimal product performance of supply chain partnerships aimed at accelerating the adoption of graphene-enhanced concrete globally. He will be central in driving the company's overall commercialization initiatives, encompassing the polymer industry, it added.

He brings over 10 years of experience in the graphene industry, with a strong background in research, development, and applications. After his post-doctoral research post at Durham University, Dr Herron joined Applied Graphene Materials PLC (AIM:AGM, OTCQX:APGMF), where he established the graphene characterisation laboratory, scaled up the dispersion process, and led numerous successful commercial customer projects.

"In a rapidly emerging industry, such expertise is very scarce and we are honored to have Chris join our team, which speaks to the company's product excellence, technical expertise, and commercially driven strategy. His addition strengthens our research and product development capabilities. On behalf of everyone, I would like to warmly welcome Chris to Black Swan," Michael Edwards, chief operating officer of Black Swan, said in a statement.

Black Swan is focused on the large-scale production and commercialization of patented high-performance and low-cost graphene products aimed at several industrial sectors, including concrete, polymers, Li-ion batteries, and others, which are expected to require large volumes of graphene.
