The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has scheduled a pre-investigational new drug (IND) meeting for May 16 to discuss a phase II/III adaptive trial study protocol aimed at treating chronic idiopathic demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a rare neurological disease with significant medical needs.
After the pre-IND meeting, the company plans to request a Type-B IND meeting with the FDA and apply for orphan drug status. If approved, ImmuPharma will gain seven years of market exclusivity.
