Recce Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:RCE, OTC:RECEF)’s mission to deliver a new class of anti-infectives combatting bacterial and viral infection has been given a boost from the Australian Patent Office, which has issued notification of ‘intent to grant’ for the first of Recce’s new Patent Family 4 anti-infectives.

The patent covers the 'Process for Preparation of Biologically Active Copolymer' and expires in 2041.

Tiziana Life Sciences Ltd (NASDAQ:TLSA) has announced that poster presentations on intranasal foralumab are being presented at the ‘Preserving the Brain’ scientific conference and exhibit at the Fondazione Prada Rong Zhai in Shanghai, China.

The company explained that ‘Preserving the Brain’ is a scientific forum and exhibit on neurodegenerative diseases as part of the ‘Human Brains’ neuroscience project. In collaboration with thirteen of the most relevant international neuroscience institutes and universities, it said the event aims to stimulate an open and critical exchange between international scientists and experts on neurodegenerative diseases.

X1 Entertainment Group Inc announced that it has wound down operations of X1 Talent, a boutique talent management group for digital content creators. It continues to have continuing operations related to the collection of accounts receivable, however, will no longer be representing talent or engaging in new contracts with brands seeking talent. The company is currently evaluating possible acquisitions. X1 held its annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday, April 7, 2023, and all resolutions put before the shareholders of the company have passed. Following the AGM, William O'Hara resigned as a director. The company noted that O'Hara has been a valuable part of the company during his tenure, and X1 wished him well on all future endeavours. Oliver Bales was appointed to fill the vacancy on the board of directors.

Jushi Holdings Inc said it has closed a secured commercial loan with FVCbank for gross proceeds of $20 million. The proceeds of the loan will be used for working capital and other corporate purposes. "This non-dilutive financing, which we are proud to have closed in this capital constrained environment, will significantly strengthen our financial position as we execute on our goals in 2023," said Jim Cacioppo, chief executive officer, chairman and founder of Jushi. The loan has a five-year term, and is principally secured by the company's cultivation and manufacturing facility located in Manassas, Virginia. The loan will bear interest based on the 30-day average secured overnight financing rate plus 3.55% with a floor interest rate of not less than 8.25%.

Banxa Holdings Inc has said the auditor of its financial statements for fiscal year 2022 has commenced completion procedures. The company anticipates final sign off and lodgement of the financial statements next week.

Fireweed Metals said it has retained PI Financial Corp to provide market-making services. PI will trade the securities of Fireweed on the TSX Venture Exchange for the purpose of maintaining an orderly market. Fireweed will pay PI a monthly fee of $4,000 for a minimum term of three months on a renewable basis.

NEXE Innovations Inc announced that further to its news release dated March 20, 2023, it has received the approval of holders of about 71.5% of its outstanding warrants issued on April 9, 2021, to the amendment of certain terms of the warrants. The company said the warrants have been amended such that the exercise price of the warrants has been revised from $2.50 to $0.65 per share and the expiry date extended from April 9, 2023 to April 9, 2024. It added that the terms of the warrants have also been amended to include a mandatory acceleration provision as required under the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) pursuant to which, if for any 10 consecutive trading days following the date hereof, the closing price of the company's common shares on the TSXV exceeds $0.78, the expiry date of warrants will be accelerated such that holders will have 30 calendar days to exercise the warrants (if they have not first expired in the normal course).
