Non-farm payrolls tipped to drop, UK shuts for Good Friday: Tomorrow's agenda

Friday is the latest 'critical' day for US data, when the unemployment rate and non-farm payrolls, a measure of new jobs created, will be announced.

Consensus has unemployment staying at 3.6%, with 240,000 new jobs created, although NFPs in March were significantly underestimated, coming in at 311,000 against the 204,000 prediction.

Evidence of persistently strong employment data will throw a spanner in the works for the Federal Reserve’s fight against inflation.

UK markets are shut for Good Friday and the start of the Easter weekend.
