NextEnergy Solar appoints SSE’s Helen Mahy to board

NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd (LSE:NESF) announced on Monday that Helen Mahy has joined its board as a non-executive director and will step up as chair from August this year.

FTSE 250-listed Next Energy said it was “pleased to formally welcome” Mahy, who currently sits on the board at SSE PLC (LSE:SSE) and chairs its safety, sustainability, health and environment advisory committee.

She has also previously been group general counsel and company secretary at National Grid PLC (LSE:NG.) and chaired The Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd for nine years.

Mahy has acquired just shy of 40,000 shares, NextSolar added, and will succeed Kevin Lyon as its chair from August this year.

Shares in NextEnergy Solar, which invests in solar and energy storage assets, rose 0.6% to 105.4p on the news.
