Hydrogen Utopia International PLC (LSE:HUI, OTCQB:HUIPF) (HUI) has announced the appointment of British fashion veteran Harold Tillman as an ethical consultant.
As part of the payment for his consultancy, Tillman has options over 6.6mln Hydrogen Utopia shares at 15p per share exercisable over different times in the four years following his appointment.
"It is a great honour to have Harold Tillman CBE supporting HUI in its ambitious world-changing goals to build the first plastic hydrogen facility in the world,” said HUI chief executive Aleksandra Binkowska in a statement.
Tillman’s role will be to assist HUI in identifying, exploring and developing potential business opportunities as well securing investment from his network of contacts.
The company, which specialises in turning non-recyclable waste plastic into hydrogen, said the appointment follows on from the strategic partnership it has with Ethical Fashion Group, announced on 20 February this year, according to a statement.
Ethical Fashion Group, which was co-founded by Tillman, partnered with HUI for the purpose of creating “a ground-breaking Fashion Pollution Solution to clothing manufacturers and suppliers.”
HUI said Tillman’s appointment further cements the strategic partnership between Ethical Fashion and itself and should enable it to be more effective.
“The environmental impact of the clothing we buy, wear and dispose of is by far the greatest challenge the sector has faced in my lifetime. I am excited about the opportunity to work with HUI because I believe it can and will play an important part in addressing this challenge,” said Tillman.
