Moonpig Group PLC (LSE:MOON) said it recorded its largest ever week of sales ahead of Mother’s Day as the greeting card and gifting platform reconfirmed full-year guidance.
Trading in the second half has been “resilient” to date, and the company expects annual revenue for the year ended 30 April 2023 of £320mln.
Expectations for adjusted underlying earnings (EBITDA) also remain unchanged, reflecting its approach to indirect cost management and its business model, according to a statement.
"Today's update is testament to the resilience of our business model, as demonstrated by a record UK Mother's Day,” said chief executive Nickyl Raithatha.
Looking ahead, the company expects revenue to grow across the next financial year, with the rate of growth weighted towards the second half.
“We are excited to return to revenue growth in the year ahead, underpinned by continued investments in our technology, marketing and operational capabilities,” Raithatha added.
“As the clear online leader in greetings cards, Moonpig Group is well positioned to benefit from the long-term structural market shift to online."
Moonpig said it remains confident in structural growth opportunities in its market and in the fundamental “strength, resilience and agility” of its business.
Investments in technology and data, it said, leave it well-positioned to capture any opportunity and with re-platforming complete, its teams are now focused on driving revenue.
