Galaxy Digital Holdings stock jumps on financial update plus more daily small cap movers

Promising preliminary financial results boosted shares of Galaxy Digital Holdings Ltd Wednesday plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and micro cap space

4:05pm: Galaxy Digital (TSX-V:GLXY) Holdings shares add to gains late day

Galaxy Digital Holdings closed up 14% at $4.77, while Hillcrest Energy Technologies rose 5% to $0.105, Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) finished 9% higher to $0.25, and Jervois Global ended down 39% at $0.068.

1:15pm: Galaxy Digital (TSX-V:GLXY) Holdings, Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) shares advance sharply

Galaxy Digital (TSX-V:GLXY) Holdings Ltd (TSX:GLXY) shares climbed 12% to $4.67 on Wednesday after the digital asset and blockchain company announced that it generated about $150 million of Income before tax year to date, while retaining a strong liquidity position through March 24, 2023.

As well, shares of Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd (CSE:HEAT, OTCQB:HLRTF) gained 10% to $0.11 as the clean technology company said it is preparing for dynamic load bench demonstrations of the Hillcrest SiC traction inverter at Systematec GmbH's facility in Germany, which will measure the impact of its Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) technology on a dynamic load at much higher power levels than previously demonstrated.

Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF), meanwhile, reported that it has amended its agreement with Canaccord Genuity (TSX:CF, LSE:CF) to increase the size of its private placement offering from up to C$3.5 million to up to C$4.0 million and amend the price of the units from C$0.175 to C$0.20 each. Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) stock moved up 13% to $0.26 following the announcement.

And, Jervois Global Limited (TSXV:JRV) shares sank 36% to $0.07 on Wednesday after the resource project developer announced its decision to suspend final construction and full concentrator commissioning at its 100%-owned Idaho Cobalt Operations mine in Idaho, due to continuing low cobalt prices and US inflationary impacts on construction costs.
