Wincanton extends long-running partnership with Waitrose

Wincanton PLC (LSE:WIN) has extended its contract with Waitrose for another five years, building on the 25 years the two have worked together.

Under the new contract, the logistics company will manage the storage and distribution of wines and spirits from a bonded warehouse in Greenford, London.

As part of the operation, which has been ongoing since 1998, Wincanton will serve 329 Waitrose shops, including convenience stores and Welcome Break motorway locations.

Wincanton said it will coordinate the delivery of roughly 13 million cases of wines and spirits for the retailer each year.

Waitrose will also benefit from Wincanton’s latest investment in a new warehouse management system which will improve efficiency and accuracy, according to a statement.

“The extension of our long-standing relationship with Waitrose & Partners speaks to our shared commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in all we do,” said Carl Moore, managing director of eFulfilment at Wincanton.

"Waitrose & Partners are a valued customer and we are very proud to have supported the partnership for the past 25 years. It’s a relationship built on collaborative working, flexibility and trust, and we look forward to partnering with Waitrose for many years to come.”
