Games Workshop declares another dividend

Games Workshop Group PLC (LSE:GAW) was one of the few London stocks in positive territory on Friday after it delivered a typically short but sweet trading update.

The Warhammer retailer declared a special dividend of 120p per share and said trading had been in line with expectations during the past quarter to the end of February.

The dividend declaration is in line with its policy of sharing out "truly surplus" cash with shareholders, which in this case included the receipt of the remaining £12mln of VAT outstanding from the French tax authorities.

So far this year it has now declared total dividends of 415p per share, up from 235p this time last year.

The company said its year-end update will be in June.
