Ultra Lithium Inc has announced assays for the first batch of channel sampling completed during fourth-quarter exploration work at its Forgan Lake Lithium Property in Ontario.
The channel sampling was completed at the Number 1 Pegmatite and other pegmatites on the property. The first two channels cut 10 meters of lithium pegmatites each with 1.81% and 1.29% lithium oxide, respectively. Anomalous values of other rare metals, including beryllium, cesium, niobium, rubidium and tantalum were also returned.
Channel 1 intersected 10-meter-wide pegmatite with an average of 8,417 parts per million (ppm) lithium or 1.88% lithium oxide. The other rare metals assayed an average of 203.30 ppm beryllium, 33.99 ppm cesium, 64.27 ppm niobium, 998 ppm rubidium, and 42.98 ppm tantalum.
A 3-meter-wide section assayed 2.52% lithium oxide and, similarly, a 1-meter section assayed 2.86%.
Channel 2 also intersected 10 meter-wide pegmatite with average 6,020 ppm lithium or 1.29% lithium oxide. The other rare metals assayed an average of 207.3 ppm beryllium, 28.17 ppm cesium, 65.07 ppm niobium, 753.2 ppm rubidium, and 38.75 ppm tantalum. A 1-meter section assayed 2.05% lithium oxide.
Both channels showed less than 1% iron, which can be a positive factor in metallurgical testwork for saving costs to remove impurities, the company said.
“The first channel sampling results further validate the presence of near-surface high-grade lithium mineralization at the Forgan Lake property,” CEO Weiguo Lang. “We are excited to receive more results from 2022 drilling and further channel sampling in the coming weeks.”
Vancouver-based Ultra Lithium holds brine lithium properties in Argentina, hard rock spodumene type lithium properties in the Georgia Lake/Forgan Lake areas in northwestern Ontario, and a brine lithium property in the Big Smoky Valley, Nevada, as well as gold and base metals properties in Argentina.
