Atlantic Lithium commences drilling at its Ewoyaa lithium project

Atlantic Lithium Limited (AIM:ALL, OTCQX:ALLIF, ASX:A11) said auger drilling has commenced at the Ewoyaa lithium project, with part of the 2023 exploration and resource drilling programmes underway.

The AIM-listed company said roughly 20,000 metres (m) of auger drilling over a five-month period to test multiple targets within the project and broader portfolio is planned for this year.

Drilling has already commenced at the Assan target in the north of the project area, with four auger rigs set up to test for and define pegmatite footprints, according to a statement from the Ghana-focused mining company.

Also planned for this year are passive seismic geophysics surveys to test for concealed pegmatite targets, 6,500m of follow-up exploration RC (reverse circulation) drilling and a soil geochemistry survey.

Atlantic Lithium said an additional resource drilling programme is planned to run concurrently, with roughly 10,000m of resource infill and extensional reverse circulation and diamond core drilling at the project.

The front-end engineering design and definitive feasibility study for the project are also “well progressed” it added, with the feasibility study expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter.

"The objectives of these significant 2023 exploration and resource drilling programmes are to test for concealed pegmatites within the immediate Resource footprint, improve Resource confidence, add potential tonnes to the current MRE and expand the regional exploration pipeline of targets," said interim chief executive Lennard Kolff in a statement.
