Directa Plus PLC (AIM:DCTA, OTC:DTPKF) said it has been granted an Italian patent for its G+ graphene technology for air-filtering applications.
Filed with a priority date of 29 December 2020, the patent covers using G+ graphene technology for air filtering applications, such as heating and air conditioning.
"Being awarded this new patent in the air filtration market demonstrates the breadth and depth of our graphene technology that can be used across a range of potential high-growth markets,” said chief executive and founder Giulio Cesareo in a statement.
The AIM-listed company said G+ has potential in the filtration market due to its antiviral and antibacterial qualities that can maintain filter cleanliness.
Directa Plus, the supplier and producer of graphene nanoplatelets, said it has been working with its industrial partners since December 2021 to develop air and water filtration products.
The latest product will be showcased at Index 2023, an exhibition in Geneva next month, which hosts suppliers and customers from 100 countries across four days.
Following the grant of the patent, Directa Plus said its IP portfolio comprises 22 patent families, with 81 patents granted and 36 patents pending.
