FTSE 100 finds its feet after bruising few days - Market Report

FTSE 100 finds its feet after bruising few days - Market Report

Good morning from London, where news that the Swiss Central Bank will step in to prop up Credit Suisse has calmed the markets.

The FTSE 100 has opened higher this morning after a bruising few days caused by jitters about contagion following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank.

Back in the world of equities now and Deliveroo says it narrowed its annual losses to £45mln in 2022, down from £100mln a year earlier.

And safety equipment group Halma says its on course to meet market expectations, explaining its made good progress so far this year and will likely make a profit of just under £360mln in pre-tax profit for the full-year.

Less cheery news over at Virgin Orbit, which is pausing all operations for at least a week and furloughing staff as it scrambles to find some fresh investment.

And in small caps, Bradda Head Lithium has mobilised a sonic drilling rig to commence its 2023 drilling programme at the Basin Project in Arizona.

That’s all for this morning, today’s report was written by Josh Lamb and presented by me, Thomas Warner.
