Goodbody Health Ltd (AQSE:GDBY, OTCQB:GDBYF) has launched its new mobile phlebotomy service to “develop and increase” the reach of phlebotomy testing.
Phlebotomy is a procedure whereby blood is taken from a vein via a needle for laboratory testing.
By offering a mobile service, testing can be undertaken in the patient's home or other convenient locations, meeting the needs of those unable to travel, the company said in a statement.
Aquis-listed Goodbody said the service has proven "very successful", with over 120 applicant phlebotomists for the platform and patients choosing this sample collection method.
“We believe this market will grow for all participants as UK health services delivery, including diagnostics, is delivered through partnerships and innovative third-party solutions,” said Goodbody chief executive George Thomas in the statement.
Additionally, the group said that its partnership with Datar Cancer Genetics, announced in January, is making “good progress” in the rollout of Trucheck.
Trucheck is a Circulating Tumour Cell multi-cancer screening solution being developed by Goodbody and Datar, a liquid biopsy company.
Goodbody said it has had significant interest in the product in the initial soft-launch phase, demonstrating it could be a “significant revenue stream for the company.”
Further phlebotomy contracts have been signed with four other testing suppliers who wish to use Goodbody Clinics as a phlebotomy partner, building on the five testing suppliers announced on 31 January and 15 February 2023.
