Dynamic Metals hits broad, high-grade nickel in first drill holes at Widgiemooltha’s Dordie Far West prospect

Dynamic Metals Ltd (ASX:DYM) has struck thick nickel mineralisation in three of the first five holes drilled at the Dordie Far West (DFW) prospect of the Widgiemooltha Project in the Goldfields of Western Australia.

The three mineralised reverse circulation (RC) drill holes (in 3-metre composites) returned:

  • 15 metres at 1.86% nickel from 27 metres downhole, including 6 metres at 2.4%;
  • 15 metres at 1.11% nickel from 30 metres and 12 metres at 1.58% nickel from 48 metres, including 3 metres at 2.0%; and
  • 3 metres at 1.38% nickel from 30 metres.

“Excellent start”

“Returning thick and high-grade nickel intersections from our first five holes is an outstanding result from our maiden drill program at DFW,” Dynamic Metals managing director Karen Wellman said.

“This is an excellent start to our first exploration campaign, and we will prioritise our follow-up drill program, with an aim to further extend these intercepts at the Widgiemooltha Project.”

The company intends to conduct detailed geochemical analysis on 1-metre split samples to confirm the model of nickel mineralisation present at DFW and support the planning of a follow-up drilling program.

This maiden drilling campaign at DFW was the first of four fully permitted drilling programs Dynamic expects to complete at Widgiemooltha in the first half of 2023, as well as a 6,000-metre aircore drilling program already underway at the Lake Percy Project.

The purpose of the Lake Percy work is to obtain fresh rock samples of the bedrock geology for geochemical analysis in areas of interest for nickel mineralisation.

Dynamic also anticipates the program will also provide additional information on the nature and extent of pegmatites in the region.

The company is fully funded for exploration across its critical minerals portfolio following the completion of a $7 million IPO in January 2023.

Its flagship project, Widgiemooltha, covers an area of about 880 square kilometres extending between Norseman and Kambalda in a region well known for its numerous nickel and gold mines but which has more recently emerged in significance for its lithium mineralisation and prospectivity.
