Northern Superior Resources Inc announced it has appointed renowned geologist Jean Lafleur to its Technical Committee.
Lafleur has 45 years of experience as a geologist in Canada and internationally, with big names like Newmont, Falconbridge, Dome Mines, and Placer Dome.
He has also served as a C-suite executive for several small-cap junior exploration companies.
During his career in the field, Lafleur led several teams in the search for precious and base metals, nickel and PGEs, as well as uranium and iron, according to a statement from Northern Superior.
In a statement welcoming Lafleur to the technical committee, Dr Tom Morris, the committee’s chairman, told investors that Lafleur’s “deep experience and intimate knowledge of the Chibougamau gold camp, coupled with his broad network of professional geoscientists, technical individuals and relations with First Nation Communities, will be invaluable to the company” as it advances its projects in the area.
Damouni joins board of directors
Northern Superior also said it had appointed finance veteran and junior resource executive Peter Damouni to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Damouni is the CEO of Mason Graphite Inc (TSX-V:LLG, OTCQX:MGPHF) and a director of Arena Minerals Inc, which is in the process of being acquired by Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:LAC, NYSE:LAC).
Damouni will serve in place of Gordon Morrison, who asked to step down from his role as a director, according to Northern Superior.
"Peter is increasingly involved in the Quebec mining industry and his commitment to excellence will be instrumental as we enter this exciting period,” Victor Cantore, executive chairman of Northern Superior, commented.
“I would also like to genuinely thank Gordon for his formal tenure as a director. I am grateful that his unmatched experience will continue to be available to the company as a consultant."
The firm also said it had signed a six-month marketing agreement with Outside the Box Capital Inc, and granted incentive stock options to certain directors, officers and employees allowing the purchase of up to 5.18 million shares of the company, exercisable at $0.50 per share, for a five-year period.
