Credit Suisse to delay 2022 annual report following call from SEC

Credit Suisse Group AG (NYSE:CS) said on Thursday it will delay the release of its annual report for 2022 following a call from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday evening.

The troubled Swiss bank said the conversation related to SEC comments about the “technical assessment of previously disclosed revisions to the consolidated cash flow statements in the years ended December 31, 2020, and 2019, as well as related controls”.

The bank stated that its management “believes it is prudent to briefly delay the publication of its accounts in order to understand more thoroughly the comments received”.

But Credit Suisse stressed the 2022 financial results released on February 9, 2023, are not impacted.

The news is the latest blow to the embattled bank. In February, shares hit new lows on fears the bank is facing a potential market manipulation rap after the Swiss financial watchdog said it was reviewing comments made by chairman Axel Lehmann in December.
