ECN Capital stock jumps on potential shareholder value move plus more daily small cap movers

Possible corporate initiatives to maximize shareholder value boosted shares of ECN Capital Corp Inc Wednesday plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and micro cap space

4:05pm: ECN Capital shares add to gains late afternoon

ECN Capital closed up 17% at $3.59, while Sidus Space rose 6% to $0.75, Hammond Power Solutions (TSX:HPS.A) finished 16% higher to $36.03, and District Metals ended up 5% at $0.23.

11:55am: ECN Capital, Sidus Space shares make big gains

ECN Capital Corp (TSX:ECN) shares climbed 13% to $3.49 on Wednesday after the provider of business services to financial services firms announced that it has initiated a review of strategic alternatives to maximize shareholder value, which could include strategic funding and capital relationships as well as other options.

As well, shares of Sidus Space Inc (NASDAQ:SIDU) gained 11% to $0.79 as the Space-as-a-Service satellite company said it has been awarded a follow-on agreement for the next phase of NASA’s Autonomous Satellite Technology for Resilient Applications (ASTRA) project.

Hammond Power Solutions (TSX:HPS.A) Inc, meanwhile, reported a 47% increase in its fiscal 2022 sales to $558 million, while earnings per share for the year surged 194% to $1.55. Hammond Power Solutions (TSX:HPS.A) stock moved up 16% to $36 following the announcement.

And, District Metals Corp (TSXV:DMX) shares continued to move higher Wednesday, up 13% to $0.25 following a 10% gain on Tuesday, after the mineral exploration company said its Bergslagen Metals AB subsidiary has applied for additional mineral licenses located to the south and north of its original Viken nr 1 mineral license application in Sweden.
