Haivision Systems stock climbs on takeover interest plus more daily small cap movers

A non-binding expression of interest from Evertz Technologies Limited powered shares of Haivision Systems Inc Tuesday plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and micro cap space

4:05pm: Haivision Systems shares add to gains late afternoon

Haivision Systems closed up 20% at $4.43, while District Metals gained 10% to $0.22, Tajiri Resources finished 100% higher to $0.06, and EV Nickel ended up 6% at $0.29.

11:55am: Haivision Systems, District Metals shares advance sharply

Haivision Systems Inc (TSX:HAI) shares surged 19% to $4.40 on Tuesday after the provider of real-time video streaming and visual collaboration solutions confirmed that it received a non-binding expression of interest from Evertz Technologies (TSX:ET) Limited outlining a proposal to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Haivision for $4.50 per share.

As well, shares of District Metals Corp (TSXV:DMX) jumped 18% to $0.235 as the mineral exploration company said its Bergslagen Metals AB subsidiary has applied for additional mineral licenses located to the south and north of its original Viken nr 1 mineral license application in Sweden.

Tajiri Resources Corp (TSXV:TAJ), meanwhile, reported further results of power auger drilling at its K4-5 Prospect in Burkina Faso, saying the prospect has potential size and form to host a large to ‘supergiant’ gold deposit. Tajiri Resources stock popped 150% to $0.075 following the announcement.

And, EV Nickel Inc (TSX-V:EVNI, OTC:EVNIF) shares continued to move higher Tuesday, up 15% to $0.315 following a 22% gain on Monday, after the nickel exploration company announced that it has received C$500,000 in a partnership with the Ontario government.
